Once again it is that time of year again to do our part as paddlers and participate in the Deschutes River Clean up on Saturday, May 10th.  The Bend Paddle Trail Alliance has been designated Drake Park this year, and we will be meeting at the Les Schwab Amphitheatre at 9:00 am for bagels, coffee and juice.  We will then head out to the Park at 10:00 am with trash bags provided by the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council to clean up on and around the river.  Items that you would need to bring would be gloves, poles/sticks to collect trash from the river and, if you a have one, your kayak or canoe.  If you do not have a canoe or kayak, you can still help by collecting trash along the banks as people remove trash from the river.  If you would like to volunteer or need further details please contact Mark Schang at 541-480-1871 or schangmas@yahoo.com.  Lets show our support and contribute to the health of the river.
