Originally known as the Lyons Whitewater Festival, the Lyons Outdoor Games, was created 6-years ago as a fundraising vehicle for the Lyons Parks and Rec.  The event has morphed from an excuse for paddling buddies from around the country to come together for a day of play in the famed Lyons Whitewater park into a world-class celebration of mountain sports.

Event Description:
In addition to a full compliment of kayaking, mountain biking, fly fishing and even dog events, the 2008 Games will feature numerous clinics and exhibitions put on by some of the world’s most elite professional athletes.  With such a myriad of activities, the 2008 Lyons Outdoor Games promises to be our best event yet.

Location
Nestled in the Foothills 15 miles north of Boulder, the tiny hamlet of Lyons boasts a myriad of world-class outdoor recreational activities.  Legendary kayaking, biking and fly fishing are all within a stone’s throw of historic Main Street.

This mountain landscape along with Lyons hometown culture are the defining forces behind the Lyons Outdoor Games.  Additionally, Lyons is known as the "Gateway to the Rockies" as it serves as a charming oasis for the millions visiting Rocky Mountain National Park each year.
