PADDLING FOR A CURE
The Alplaus Ladies Auxiliary is proud to present the 4th annual Paddling for a Cure event to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This money will go specifically for work related to fighting Breast Cancer.
On Sunday, July 19, 2009 paddlers will gather at the Burnt Hills Rowing Center on Maritime Drive in Alplaus. Most of them will have collected pledges, but many will simply make their own contribution. After launching, the paddlers will make their way downstream to the lovely Lawrence Mansion, and back for a total paddling time of approximately 1.5 hours. When they return, prizes and refreshments will greet them. An Old Town Kayak will also be raffled off that day.
Paddlers of any ability are welcome to take part in this event. Registration will begin at 8:00am. $10.00 covers the cost of registration and insurance.
