2008 Reno River Festival

Welcome to the 5th annual Reno River Festival – America’s premier whitewater event that takes place in the heart of downtown Reno at the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield May 9 – 11, 2008. Known for attracting the world’s top whitewater athletes for an action-filled weekend in America’s Adventure Place, this year’s event is even more exciting and entertaining than ever with the addition of two new athletic events, the “Run Amuck” fun run, which invites competitors to get down and dirty during an obstacle filled run through downtown Reno, and the “Street Rapids” mountain bike speed trials that transforms urban streets into a 750-foot-long course featuring some of the most daunting and intimidating obstacles our Sierra suburb has ever seen.

In addition to competitions that fill the days, the Reno River Festival also offers up a variety of food, beer and other beverages to satisfy your needs as well as live entertainment throughout the weekend, an outdoor expo featuring the hottest outdoor products on the market and plenty of after-hours entertainment at area clubs and nightspots, all within walking distance of the Whitewater Park.

We’ve grown from attracting a mere 14,000 spectators to in our first year to bringing in more than 32,000 in 2007 and we’d love to add you to those numbers for 2008. So grab your gear, whether it’s paddles, pedals or running shoes, and get ready for the experience of a lifetime in Reno-Tahoe, America’s Adventure Place.
