Montrose Colorado River Running Guide

Weather for Montrose Colorado Forecast

Montrose Colorado is the kind of Colorado people dream about. Situated in southwestern Colorado on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains, Montrose is home to the Black Canyon National Park and offers scenic mountains, valleys, canyons, mesas, lakes and rivers, plus all the recreational activities that accompany these natural wonders like hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, camping, boating and more. Montrose lies at an elevation of 5,794 feet above sea level, has mild summers and winters with minimal snow accumulation in the city, making a great four season playground.

The Colorado Rockies lie directly east, the spires of the San Juans sparkle just 25 miles south, the largest flat-top mountain in the world looms 40 miles to the north, while the world renowned hunting grounds of the Uncompahgre Plateau frame the western sunset. Located 260 miles southwest of Denver, Montrose is a transportation crossroads with U.S. Highways 50 and 550 intersecting in the city, and air service provided by major carriers at the Montrose Regional Airport.
