 John Day is located at the junction of State Highway 26 and U.S. Highway 395, 117 miles east of Prineville on Highway 26. We’re the largest town in Grant County with a population of 1,850 residents.

While in John Day, visit the Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum for a unique look at the past through the eyes of the Chinese immigrants who worked the gold mines of eastern Oregon. Located in a building, which was the focal point of the Chinese community, the museum is open from early May through October. |
