Take Out:  Sims Flat
Difficulty:  Class III @ 500 - 1,500 cfs , Class IV > 1,500 cfs
Gradient:  50 fpm
Run Length:  9 miles
Good Level:  500 - 1,500 cfs. Optimum 1,000 cfs
Season Comments:  March, April, May
Primary Season:  This section of river only runs during the spring
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Class IV pool drop rapids with great scenery
Hazards:  Triple Drop Rapid is considered class V at higher flows.
Water Craft:  kayak,raft
Land Ownership:  Mixed
Wilderness:  No
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 212 miles (3 37 minutes) North of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put In: From Lake Shasta take I-5 north and take the Castle Crags exit. The put in is at the bridge in Castle Crags.

Take Out: From the put in continue downriver to Sims Road. Follow Sims Road until you reach the take out at Sims Flat Campground.
