Grand Canyon Run Whitewater Kayaking Trip on the Tuolumne River

Put In:  Tioga Road Bridge in Tuolumne Meadows
Take Out:  Hetch Hatchery Reservoir
Difficulty:  Class IV , Class V , Portage 6 mile portage
Gradient:  200 fpm, 400 fpm in some places
Run Length:  32 miles, 8 miles on reservoir
Good Level:  500 - 1,200 cfs, Optimum 1,200 cfs
Season Comments:  June, July, August
Primary Season:  This section of river runs during summer snowmelt
Permit:  It is currently illegal to boat this section of river. This section is ran by a few boaters each year.
Character/Similar To:  Lots of class V drops and long portages around nearly unrunnable gorges
Hazards:  Dont let the park rangers see you on this river, they will give out hefty fines. This run is for expert kayakers only
