Put In:  Pillsbury Reservoir
Take Out:  Bucknell Creek
Difficulty:  Class III +
Gradient:  30 ft/mi
Run Length:  5.7 miles; longer and shorter runs possible.
Good Level:  300-5,000 cfs
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
Permit:  None presently required.
Character/Similar To:  From May trough October kayakers get an opportunity to work on their skills with technical, tight spots amongst big boulders. In winter and spring, when rain runoff swells the river, rafters and kayakers alike enjoy the good ride and beautiful scenery.

Camping on River:  Primitive campsites available at the tak-out in addition to Forest Service campgrounds around Pillsbury.
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 120 miles Northwest of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put-in: Turn east of Hwy 101 north of Ukiah, California, at Calpella and follow Hwy 20 five miles. Turn left on Potter Valley Road, running along the East Fork of the Russian River. At the town of Potter Valley turn right onto the Eel River Road and continue to the bridge across the Eel. Put-in at the Elk Mountain Road bridge Across the Eel a mile downstream from Scott Dam. There is an alternate access at Benmore Creek, about a half a mile downstream.

Take-out: Bucknell Creek is accessible only from the south bank road.
