Put In: The put in for this section is very difficult to find. From Route 108 take the paved road to Beardsley Reservoir. In about 2 miles turn right onto FR 5N95. In 3 miles turn right onto FR 5N09X. Follow this road for 10 miles and it should lead to Donnell Lake Dam. This road can sometimes be block by a gate. Take Out: Finding the take out can be very difficult. From Vallecito drive down the Camp 9 Road, cross the bridge over the river and drive up the river left side on a dirt road. Continue upriver on this dirt road until the Forebay turnoff is reached, turn right here and start tracking the mileage. Drive 7.5 miles to the trail head, the trail starts as a road and in about .5 miles it turns into a trail. Hike down the trail for a couple miles to reach the river. |
