Put In:  Route 49
Take Out:  Englebright Lake
Difficulty:  Class IV , Class V , Portage
Gradient:  30 - 135 fpm
Run Length:  12 miles
Good Level:  600 - 1,000 cfs, Optimum 800 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  There is no gauge for this section of river, flows are dependent from dam spillage.
Season Comments:  March, April, May
Primary Season:  This section usually only runs in the spring after a big snow year.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Fun section of class V rapids hidden deep inside the foothills.
Hazards:  There are many rapids that deserve scouting and many rapids that should be portaged
Water Craft:  kayak
Land Ownership:  Public
Wilderness:  No
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 61.1 miles (1 hour 9 minutes) Northeast of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put In: From Nevada City, drive north on Highway 49 for 11 miles to the bridge over the Middle Fork, this will be the put in.

Take Out: To reach the take out drive one mile north of the Bridgeport Bridge to a dirt road that goes to the left. Follow this road until it is no longer possible to drive on it, then it is only a short hike to the river.
