Take Out:  Highway 49 Bridge
Difficulty:  Class III , Class IV
Gradient:  49 ft/mi
Run Length:  8.5 miles

Permit:  None presently required.
Hazards:  Maytag Rapid; depending on the level many boaters may choose to portage.
Water Craft:  kayak
Land Ownership:  National Forest
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Improved Forest Service campgrounds along the run. Indian Valley and Fiddle Creek are accessible from both the river and the highway. Ramshorn Campground is not on the river.
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 100 miles Northeast of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: Take a side road that crosses to the left bank of the river, 4 miles west of Downieville.

Take-out: From Hwy 49 toward Downieville to the bridge over the river.
