Good Level:  500-2,500 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  The actual flows at Wild Plum put-in will be approximately 60% of the Goodyears Bar gauge because the Goodyears Bar gauge includes contribution from major drainages below the Wild Plum run.
Season Comments:  April, May, June
Permit:  None presently required.
Character/Similar To:  Nearly continuous Class IV+ action mixed with fast Class II rapids and short pools.
Hazards:  Gillespie Dam. Nonstop Class IV+ rapids requiring several scouts.
Water Craft:  kayak
Land Ownership:  National Forest
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Improved Forest Service campgrounds along the run.
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 114 miles Northeast of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: From the small town of Sierra City, California, off Hwy 49, take the poorly marked road to Wild Plum Campground and turn right. Continue about one mile to the bridge across the river, park and put-in on river left.

Take-out: At the small town of Downieville, California, off Hwy 49 from Nevada City, pull into the parking lot on the right and the river is a short walk from this point. There is an alternate put-in at the Shangri-La bridge about 4 miles upstream.
