Put In:  Balch Camp
Take Out:  Main Kings Confluence
Difficulty:  Class V - @ 400 - 800 cfs, V > 800 cfs
Gradient:  87 fpm
Run Length:  3 miles
Good Level:  400 - 800 cfs, Optimum 700 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  This section is usually running if the Main Kings at Rodgers Crossing gauge reads 2,000 - 3,000 cfs
Season Comments:  March, April, May
Primary Season:  This section of river runs during the spring when rain or snowmelt cause the dam to spill over.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Pool drop class V rapids that are usually very rocky because of the lack of water.
Hazards:  Scout Chucks Leap Hole about halfway through the run
Water Craft:  kayak
Land Ownership:  Public
Wilderness:  No
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 217 miles (3 hours 41 minutes) Southeast of Sacramento
