Put In: Pigeon Point Campground is located about 15 miles west of the town of Weaverville on California Highway 299.
Take Out: California Highway 299 closely follows the Trinity from Pigeon Point to Cedar Flat (mile 23.6) providing many alternate accesses. For the take-out at Big Flat Campground (mile 5.2), drive west from the put-in on Highway 299 until you get to Big Flats Campground. Below Big Flats Campground the river is class II+ until Burnt Ranch Gorge (class V). Burnt Ranch Gorge begins at the China Slide Transfer Station about 1.5 miles downstream of Cedar Flat access point. |
