Put In:  Near Soapstone Creek
Take Out:  2 miles above Lake
Difficulty:  Class V , Portage 4
Gradient:  Average 247 fpm, Highest 290 fpm
Run Length:  6 miles
Good Level:  200 - 500 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  There is no gauge for this river.
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, May, November, December
Primary Season:  This section of river only runs during the winter and spring, usually after a few days of heavy rain or during normal snowmelt.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Super steep technical creek
Hazards:  Class V run that should only be attempted by expert kayakers

Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 220 miles (3 hours 40 minutes) North of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From Dunsmuir take I-5 north and take the Central Mt. Shasta exit. Turn left and go over the freeway and turn left onto Old Stage Road. Follow Old Stage Road until it forks at W.A. Barr Road; from here follow the signs to Lake Siskiyou. Continue on the road and cross over the dam to the west side of the lake. From there follow the road up the South Fork Sacramento. Take out about 2 miles up stream of the lake.

Put In: Continue up the South Fork Sacramento until you reach any good put in areas.
