Put In:  Dinkey Creek Campground
Take Out:  Spur Road 3.5 miles south of Ross Crossing Road
Difficulty:  Class V
Gradient:  131 fpm
Run Length:  5.2 miles
Flow Information (phone):  209-443-8245
Good Level:  200 - 600 cfs, Optimum 400 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  For accurate flows call the flow phone and subtract the flow of North Fork Kings River above Dinkey Creek from the flow of North Fork Kings River below Dinkey Creek
Season Comments:  March, April, May
Primary Season:  This section of creek only runs in the spring during normal snowmelt
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Fun class IV/V whitewater through two scenic granite gorges
Hazards:  There are a few rapids that should be scouted or portaged, one rapid in the first gorge, and Cherry Bomb Falls in the second gorge

Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 217 miles (3 hours 41 minutes) Southeast of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put In: Take Highway 168 to Shaver Lake and turn right onto Dinkey Creek Road. Dinkey Creek Campgrounds are about 13 miles down this road.

Take Out: From the put in return to the highway and go down river about 1 mile. Turn onto Ross Crossing Road and follow is downriver for 3.5 miles. Shortly after a large pull out with a view of the river take a steep dirt road towards the river. Where the road ends hike down one of the small trail to a developed trail that leads to the river. The trail will soon reach river level, make sure to scout and mark the take out because just below there are many challenging class V rapids in quick secession.
