Put In:  Johnsondale Bridge
Take Out:  Fairview Dam
Difficulty:  Class IV + Class IV < 4000 cfs Class IV+ > 4000 cfs
Gradient:  45 ft/mi
Run Length:  2.4 miles

Permit:  Yes, you can pick one up at the forest service office in Kernville or at several businesses in Kernville.
Hazards:  Take out before Fairview Dam.

Wilderness:  No, a road follows the run.
Camping on River:  Excellent campsites along the river.
Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 300 miles South of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics:  Take-out: To reach the take-out travel Northeast from Bakersfield on Hwy 178 about 40 miles to the town of Lake Isabella. Turn left on Hwy 155 to Wofford Heights and continue four more miles to Kernville. Turn left on
Sierra Way (Sierra way turns into Mountain Road 99)and continue about 17.2 miles upstream to a turnout a few hundred yards upstream from Fairview Dam. Parking is limited.

Put-in: Continue upstream for about 2.4 miles to Johnsondale Bridge. The put-in is on river right at the bridge.
