Put In:  Dean Road
Take Out:  Lake Oroville
Difficulty:  Class V + , Portage
Gradient:  118 fpm
Run Length:  4 miles, 3 miles of flatwater
Good Level:  250 - 600 cfs, Optimum 400 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  There is no gauge for this river.
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, May, November, December
Primary Season:  This section only runs during the winter and spring, usually after a few days of heavy rain or during normal snowmelt.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Continuous class V+ in a very remote gorge.
Hazards:  This section should only be attempted by expert kayakers

Location:  In the Pacific Region (CA), 68.4 miles (1 hour 19 minutes) North of Sacramento
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From Oroville take Highway 70 north and turn left onto Pentz Road. Drive for about 3 miles and turn right onto Lime Saddle Road and follow it until the take out at Nelson Bar Boat Ramp.

Put In: From the take out return to Pentz Road, turn right and continue for 10 miles to Dean Road. Turn right and follow it to the end of the road. To reach the river walk across the flume, then go right for about 15 yards and follow the trail to the river. Scout this take out well so you don’t miss it and continue down river.
