Take Out:  Before Crystal Gorge
Difficulty:  Class III , Class IV , Class V

Current Streamflow:  39 cfs @ 02/10/2012 04:00 AM - CRYSTAL RIVER AB AVALANCHE C, NEAR REDSTONE, CO., reading taken from USGS
Good Level:  Above 1,000 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  Flows for the Crystal River are dependent on current snowpack
Season Comments:  June, July
Primary Season:  Peak snowmelt
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  This section of the Crystal is a rollercoaster ride through class III/IV rapids with one class V somewhere in the middle.
Hazards:  Always watch for downed trees and over hanging bushes
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan
Land Ownership:  Mixed
Wilderness:  Yes
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 169 miles (3 hours 11 minutes West of Denver
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: Take County Road 3 past Lizard Lake, after passing the lake on the left follow the road down the hill. When the road reaches the river there are a few large pull offs. Make sure and take out here because if this upper section of Crystal is running the next section will be too high and you will be hiking home.

Put In: The put in is just above or just below Crystal Mills Falls.
