Put In:  Colorado & Blue confluence
Take Out:  Pumphouse Campground
Difficulty:  Class V
Gradient:  39 ft/mi (68 ft/mi in canyon)
Run Length:  9.2 miles (3.9 miles of flat)
Flow Information (phone):  watertalk 303-831-7135, 5*, 7*. Colorado River near Kremmling, CO.
Good Level:  800 cfs - 1500 cfs
Season Comments:  July, August, September, October
Primary Season: 

Late fall, winter, and early spring runs are possible. Check flows.

Permit:  none needed
Character/Similar To:  Except for Gore rapid and Kirschbaum it is mostly pool and drop. Lot's of class IV and IV+ that isn't named.
Hazards:  Scout frequently if not familiar with the canyon. It is steep and rocky. Except for the late summer months, the water is very cold.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  The first 3.9 miles is private ranch land. In the canyon, the right shore has a railroad line.
Wilderness:  partial
Camping on River:  No, this is a class V day trip. The canyon walls are very steep.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 120 miles Northwest of Denver
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put-in: From I-70 at Silverthorne, head north on Hwy 9 towards Kremmling, CO. Turn west off of Hwy 9 on Trough Road which is about .5 mile south of the Hwy 9 bridge crossing the Colorado. Proceed about .5 mile on this dirt road to a gate on the right hand side of the road. Go through the gate for about 1.2 miles to the put-in area. This road can be rough but is navigable by passenger cars

Take-out: Return to Trough Road and turn right. Continue about 10 miles down Trough Road and turn right at the road marked "Pumphouse". Continue 1.5 miles to the river. Fee camping is available including outhouses, picnic tables, and fireplaces.
