Good Level:  400-4,000 cfs
Season Comments:  April, May, June, July, August
Permit:  A permit from the Southern Ute Indian Reservation is required if using the Weaselskin Bridge as an alternate take-out; Call 970-563-4525 for permits or updated information.
Character/Similar To:  Shallow, semi-arid Canyon with beautiful scenery.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Mostly private to about 5 miles below Durango; then Southern Ute Indian Reservation.
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  No
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 379 Southwest of Denver
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: Head south on Hwy 550 to the south end of Durango. The take-out is the bridge crossing the Animas where Hwy 550 meets Hwy 3.

Take-out: Left bank a half mile upstream from Bondad Bridge on US 550; somewhat difficult climb from the river to the highway. This is private land so inquire locally about permission to use it.
