There are only three rapids of note, including Warm Springs Rapid, but whitewater is not what brings boaters to this classic desert float. The slickrock sandstone canyon scenery is incredible and there are several side hikes. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put-in: Turn north off US 40 in northwestern Colorado onto a paved road about 16 miles west of Maybell and 7 miles east of Elk Springs. Follow this road 14 miles north toward the Yampa, then west along the left bank to Deerlodge Park.
Take-out: Return to US 40 and drive west some 60 miles to Jensen in northeastern Utah. Turn right onto Utah Route 149 and drive beyond the Dinosaur Quarry to Split Mountain Campground and Boat Ramp.
