Take Out:  Avalanche Creek
Difficulty:  Class IV + 500 to 1100 cfs , Class V > 1100 cfs
Gradient:  95 ft/mi
Run Length:  2.1 miles
Current Streamflow:  47 cfs @ 02/09/2012 07:00 PM - CRYSTAL RIVER AB AVALANCHE C, NEAR REDSTONE, CO., reading taken from USGS
Flow Information (phone):  Watertalk 303-831-7135, 5*, 12*. Crystal River above Avalanche Creek near Redstone, CO.
Good Level:  500 to 2,000 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  Flows for this stretch are dependant on current snowpack
Season Comments:  May, June, July
Primary Season:  This sectin of river runs during the snowmelt season
Permit:  No permit required
Character/Similar To:  Continuous class IV+ at 500 - 1,100 cfs and continuous class V above 1,100 cfs. In this section the river narrows into a tight chute for a long distance.
Hazards:  Although there are a few big holes in this section most of them will let you pass with out too much issue. In the lower portion watch out for logs.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Mixed
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Several USFS campgrounds along the river.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 180 miles West of Denver
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: Down an embankment just above the Narrows near mile 55.

Take-out: A pullout at milemarker 57 just below the bridge to Avalanche Creek.
