Put In:  Above Nellie Creek
Take Out:  0.5 mile up 20 RD from Lake City
Difficulty:  Class V - , Portage
Gradient:  Average 120 fpm, Maximun 185 fpm
Run Length:  6.7 miles
Good Level:  > 200 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  Flows for this section are dependant on current snowpack
Season Comments:  May, June, July
Primary Season:  This usually runs during normal snowmelt season. Most years this will run in June, depending on current snow conditions it sometimes runs as early as May and as late as July.
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Pool drop class V- rapids, remote gorge with difficult portages. This creek has 2 days that have been destroyed by the water and the area is full of disintegrating man made objects.
Hazards:  Wood on this creek is a constant issue. Watch out for mining debris scattered throughout the creek.

Land Ownership:  Public forest, possible private mining areas
Wilderness:  Yes
Camping on River:  Some campsites are located at the take out.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 236 (6 hours 1 minute) Southwest of Denver
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From the town of Lake City take Road 20 towards Engineer Pass. The take out is about ½ mile out of town.

Put In: The put in is about 6 miles further up stream at Nellie Creek.
