Compared to Upper Kannah Creek this lower section is a nice mellow float. The rapids consist of class III pool drop rapids with no particular hazards. When you reach the confluence with the Gunnison expect a long flatwater float. |
| Hazards: |
About half way down the creek portion of this run there is a large diversion dam that creates a nasty huydraulic, portage this on the river left and do not atempt to run it. Watch for the occasional river wide barbed wire fence. |

Take Out: To reach the take out head west on Highway 141, take out is just a half mile to the bridge over the Gunnison.
Put In: The put in is on Highway 50 were the road crosses over Kannah Creek 5 miles south of the town of Whitewater. |
