Put In:  Hwy 50 Bridge
Take Out:  Hwy 141 Bridge
Difficulty:  Class III , Portage
Gradient:  57 fpm
Run Length:  6.5 miles
Streamflow Comments:  There is no gauge for this creek
Season Comments:  May, June
Primary Season:  This section of creek usually runs early in the snow melt season, usually runs in May and June
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Compared to Upper Kannah Creek this lower section is a nice mellow float. The rapids consist of class III pool drop rapids with no particular hazards. When you reach the confluence with the Gunnison expect a long flatwater float.
Hazards:  About half way down the creek portion of this run there is a large diversion dam that creates a nasty huydraulic, portage this on the river left and do not atempt to run it. Watch for the occasional river wide barbed wire fence.

Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 251 miles (4 hours 19 minutes) West of Denver
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: To reach the take out head west on Highway 141, take out is just a half mile to the bridge over the Gunnison.

Put In: The put in is on Highway 50 were the road crosses over Kannah Creek 5 miles south of the town of Whitewater.
