Put In:  Shoe & Stocking Crk Trailhead
Take Out:  Bridge on 4A RD Below Quarry
Difficulty:  Class V + , Portage
Gradient:  240 fpm
Run Length:  7 miles
Good Level:  150 - 400 cfs
Streamflow Comments: 

Levels in this creek are dependent on current snowpack. This section is class V+ above 150 cfs and this is not a recomended creek with flows over 400 cfs

Season Comments:  April, May
Primary Season:  This usually runs early in the snow melt
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  This creek is very continuous class V+ through tall canyon walls.
Hazards:  Often times this creek is log choked and running it is not an option. There are many class V+ rapids that may required a portage.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan
Land Ownership:  Public Forest
Wilderness:  Yes
Camping on River:  Good camping at the take out.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (CO), 137 miles (2 hours 40 minutes) West of Denver
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put In: Take Highway 114 to Forest Road 206/16, in one mile turn onto Forest Road 225. Follow this road for one mile to a parking area with an out house.

Take Out: Take Highway 131 to McCoy, continue north for 5 miles and turn onto 4RD/29RD. Once you pass the large cinder rock quarry on the left drive for .5 miles down a rough road to the creek.
