The top of Big Creek is a small, tight stream. The first 10 miles require the portaging of several log jams. The middle section flattens. A big class IV forms from a bunch of massive boulders below Coxey Bar. The best whitewater is found in the Big Creek Gorge, the last five miles before the confluence.
