Put In:  Top of Cow Creek
Take Out:  Confluence of Cow Creek and Smith Creek
Difficulty:  Class V
Run Length:  3 miles
Streamflow Comments: 

Most boaters are in the area to do the famous Smith Creek. But if Smith is flowing too high, Cow should be good to go.

Season Comments:  April, May, June

Hazards:  Wood and gnarly drops.

Shuttle Logistics: 

Follow the directions to the Smith Creek put in. Continue up the 281 which turns into 655. The road follows the creek. Take out is usually at the confluence of Smith Creek.

Cow Creek on the Kootenai River

Larger but fewer drops than Smith Creek. Two of the larger falls are around 20 ft and could get hairy at higher flows. Cow Creek contains wood, and there are some portages.
