To get to the put-in from Cascade, head east on Warm Lake Road. Turn left at South Salmon River Road and go to the confluence of the East Fork. Turn right and go to the town of Yellow Pine. Check out the Upper run for more description. Take out along the road at the confluence with the South Fork.

This is an exceptional run full of class IV drops with the most difficult rapids near the beginning. At most levels the river is full of big holes. The run starts with a small warm up followed by a couple of class V drops. Flight simulator is the first with a fairly clean line; the bottom corners usually being the crux move. You can scout the run while setting shuttle.
