| East Fork South Fork, Upper on the Salmon River-South Fork |
This is a small, technical creek with lots of rock gardens and chutes. It's an easy class IV to Quartz creek; watch for a river wide log jam. Just before Quartz is waterfall that should be scouted from the road on the way up. After the creek comes in, the run becomes more pool drop. A couple of good rapids end the run; the first being past the bridge in town. The river eases a bit before the last one. Stay to the left side of the island, but watch for logs. It ends with a bang at Johnson Creek.
