Drive east on I-84 to the Bliss exit.  Take Hwy 30 down into the Snake River Canyon and at the bottom, cross the Malad bridge.  Turn left on a gravel road and drive to the end of the road.  Scout the dams from the road.

To get to the take-out:

Head back down the dirt road and across Hwy 30 to the other dirt road down the snake.  There is boater parking and a bathroom.

Malad River on the Snake River

Put in below the first diversion dam.  The hardest rapid is just  above the lower dam.  If there is water below the second dam, portage and put back in.  The second section starts off harder and then mellows out.
