    Flow Information (phone):  Middle Fork Ranger District, 208-879-5204.
    Good Level:  1,500-5,000 cfs
    Streamflow Comments: 
    Season Comments:  April, May, June, July, August, September
    Primary Season: 
    Permit:  Required year-round. Maximum group size of 24; maximum trip length of 8 days. Applications accepted December 1 through January 31, with a lottery held in February.
    Character/Similar To:  A challenging but not threatening river that flows through deep canyons and rugged, forested mountains. At high flows, the water in the upper section becomes nearly continuous.
    Hazards:  Isolation
    Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
    Land Ownership:  Mixed
    Wilderness:  Yes
    Camping on River:  Excellent. More than 100 riverside campsites, sandy beaches and sandbars except at high flows. Must be reserved with the ranger at the put-in.
    Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (ID), 90 Northeast of Boise
    Shuttle Logistics: 

    Put-in: Turn off Idaho Hwy 21 at mile 110, go nine miles to Bruce Meadows and turn right; ten more miles to Boundry Creek.

    Take-out: Return to Hwy 21, turn left and head 19 miles to Stanley; turn left on Idaho Hwy 75. Just south of Challis, turn left onto US 93. About 22 miles past the town of Salmon, at North Fork, turn left onto USFS Road 030, the "Salmon River Road." Fourty one miles to Cache Bar.
