| Secesh River Canyon on the Salmon River-South Fork |
This is a demanding class V run. The river starts out gently with the first rapid less than two miles below the put-in. About three miles down, above Loon Creek Back Bridge it picks up. Long tight rock gardens stream down to Blue Lake Creek. The rapids become harder on the way to Paradise Creek which is upstream of a long complex rapid that dumps into a series of pools. The portage is on the left at the end of these pools. The first rapid after these pools is the Miracle Mile. The crux move is a powerful chute in the middle of the rapid. The canyon opens up for the last two miles. Always be on the lookout for logs.
