| Tributary-White Sand Creek, Upper on the Lochsa River |
This is an expert run with a four mile hike to the put-in. Just above the confluence with Big Sand Creek, the stream constricts to a miniature gorge, with 20 to 40 foot granite walls that rise straight out of the water. It has been run, but is not recommended. Nearly 20 drops of 4 to 8 feet with tons of pinning potential make this a dangerous section. As always, watch for wood.
