Put In:  Troy Bridge
Take Out:  Porthill, Idaho
Difficulty:  Class I
Run Length:  60 miles
Current Streamflow:  13200 cfs @ 05/26/2012 01:00 PM - Kootenai River bl Libby Dam nr Libby MT, reading taken from USGS
Good Level:  7500-11000 cfs
Streamflow Comments: 

Flows are dam controlled and erratic. Summer flows tend to be more stable.

Season Comments:  April, May, June, July, August, September, October
Primary Season: 
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft,canoe,touring
Camping on River:  Campsites exist at various points along the river. The first is the Yaak River Campground at the confluence of the Yaak River.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (ID,MT), of
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put in at the Troy bridge. Take Hwy 95 to Hwy 2 to Hwy 1 up to Porthill.


Lower Kootenai on the Kootenai River

The run is fairly flat with some large waves here and there. Notable are the waves at the confluence of the Yaak.
