To get to the put in from Chester:

1. Head west on W Madison Ave toward 1st St W
0.2 mi
2. Turn left at 5th St W/Co Rd 223
10.2 mi
3. Turn left at Co Rd 223/State Hwy 223

Travel until the road crosses the Marias River.


To get to the take-out from the put-in:

Head south on Hwy 223 toward Ft. Benton

4. Continue onto MT-80 S
1.3 mi
5. Turn left at State Hwy 387
0.7 mi
6. Turn right
226 ft

Fort Benton, Mt
7. Head northwest toward State Hwy 387
226 ft
8. Turn right at State Hwy 387
1.7 mi
9. Turn right at US-87 N
8.8 mi

Just before you reach Loma, Hwy 87 crosses the Marias.  Take out here.

Marias River on the Missouri River

It is a slow-moving but scenic run, through beautiful rolling prairies and open forests making it one of Montana's finest floatable streams.
