Character/Similar To:  Magnificent run with excellent scenery. Once peak snowmelt is over, flows drop quickly.
Hazards:  Possible log hazards, high water, hypothermia and grizzlies.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Mixed National Park and National Forest.
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Limited and scattered sites in steep canyon.
Location:  In the Rocky Mtn Region (MT), 255 miles Northwest of Helena
Shuttle Logistics: 

Put-in: US Hwy 2 follows the river from Bear Creek to West Glacier providing numerous accesses. Essex Bridge is the US Hwy 2 bridge over the river.

Take-out: Some 15 miles southeast of West Glacier, Montana on US Hwy 2.
