The South Fork is a magnigicent wilderness river that flows through the heart of Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. Meadow Creek Gorge is for experts only as the river tumbles through narrow gorges and dramatic constrictions with dangerous undercuts, few eddies and at least seven major rapids. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Put-in: Turn south off US 2 at Hungry Horse and follow a winding USFS road up the west side of Hungry Horse Reservoir. Continue past the reservoir and about a mile beyond an airstrip to the intersection with USFS Road 2826, bear right and drive about 12 miles to the Meadow Creek Trailhead, which is some 3 hiking miles from the Mid Creek Access.
Take-out: Take a right on Road 2826 and drive about 10 miles to the Cedar Flats access trail on the left.
