Put In:  Below Lake Abanakee Dam
Take Out:  Route 28 in North River
Difficulty:  Class III , Class IV
Gradient:  27 ft/mi
Run Length:  16 miles
Current Streamflow:  1090 cfs @ 02/10/2012 04:15 AM - HUDSON RIVER AT NORTH CREEK NY, reading taken from USGS
Flow Information (phone):  518-251-2777
Good Level:  3 - 8 ft
Streamflow Comments:  The gauge is actually in North Creek which is about 5 miles below the takeout. The dam releases for about two hours each morning and you will need to ride the bubble. If you don't you will be stranded.
Season Comments:  April, May, June, July, August, September, October
Permit:  None required.
Hazards:  Possible strainer on the Indian River and in Cedar Ledge Rapid on the Hudson. Undercut on river right in Cedar Ledge Rapid. Hypothermia in early season
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Land Ownership:  Mixed public and private.
Wilderness:  yes
Camping on River:  Several good areas to camp on the Hudson. Watch for private property signs posted; camp only on public land.
Location:  In the Northeastern U.S. (NY), 95 miles North of Albany, NY
Shuttle Logistics:  Put In: Turn north off Route 28 onto Chain Lakes Road east of the town of Indian Lake. Continue for approximately 2.5 miles to the parking lot and boat ramp. Those interested in running class V- Otter Slide Rapid put in directly below Lake Abanakee dam upstream of the designated put in.

Take Out: 13th Lake Brook bridge on Route 28 in North River or continue about .5 mile downstream to the monument picnic area on Rt.28 in North River.
