| Dale to Monument on the John Day River-North Fork |
| The lower portion of the North Fork of the John Day is very similar in character to the upper section. It is another classic multi-day canoe run in Oregon. This section differs from the upper section, only by its continuous nature. This trip is usually done with two nights of camping in the many campsites along the run. The whitewater is mostly class II with a few class III drops, for a solid class III boater this is good continuous read and run. Take a guide book for your trip down this river so you can take advantage of the many side hikes along the way. |
