This is a short section of whitewater that is great for the after work boater. Mostly class IV rapids seperated by calm pools, rapids contain great playboating. |
| Hazards: |
Nugget Falls and Powerhouse Rapids present some difficulties. Powerhouse can't be scouted from the river, so must be scouted from Upper River Road on the east side of the river. Upper River Road turn off of Oregon 234 east out of Gold Hill just after the road crosses the river. Go upriver about 1 mile to a pullout on the left. The last drop can be seen from here, but the entrance is hidden by some trees. It may be a good idea to run Powerhouse with someone who has been through before, since the entrance is tricky. |
