Put In:  Jones Creek Forest Camp
Take Out:  Milepost 15
Difficulty:  Class II + 1,200 cfs , Class III 2,300 cfs , Class IV - 7,000 cfs
Gradient:  35 fpm
Run Length:  8 miles
Current Streamflow:  890 cfs @ 02/10/2012 07:30 AM - WILSON RIVER NEAR TILLAMOOK, OR, reading taken from USGS
Good Level:  1,200 - 7,000 cfs
Streamflow Comments:  The minimum flow for this stretch is 1,200 cfs and optimum flows are between 1,500 - 2,500 cfs.
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, October, November, December
Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  This section of the Wilson is very narrow and slides down basalt gorges. At low to medium levels this section has calm pools with turbulent eddies after most rapids. At high water this section becomes very continuous.
Hazards:  The gorge section in this stretch of river is very narrow with many blind corners. Scout the entire gorge before committing to running it, once you are in it there is no way out. This river can rise very quickly.

Location:  In the Pacific Region (OR), 89.1 miles (1 hour 45 minutes) Northwest of Salem
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From Tillamook take Oregon 6 east to milepost 15. The take out is below a rocky ledge, the hike out of the river here is not as bad as it looks.

Put In: From the take out continue up river on Oregon 6 to milepost to 23. Turn left onto Jones Creek Road, the put in is at a parking area on the north side of the river.
