At the put in you have the option to run the 14-foot Campbell falls or put in 75 yards downstream. If you decide to run the falls you can either take the vertical line or you can hug the river left wall and paddle through a chute. At most levels the main falls looks like the better line.
Mile 1.9(Diversification Rapid): A lower flows this rapid has two different chutes. The left chute is a straight forward line and the right chute makes a sharp turn before you fall off of a 5-foot ledge. This drop can be scouted from the road.
Mile 2.4(Boulder Creek Rapid): About .5 miles further down, when Boulder Creek enters the river; the next big drop is only a few hundred yards away. This drop is very similar to Diversification. Scout this rapid from the road.
Mile 10.5(Triple Drop Rapid): Near the take out you come across the last drop big rapid of the run. Triple Drop is a long rapid with three distinct drops in quick succession. Scout this rapid from the road.
Mile 12(Take-Out): A few miles below Triple Drop take out on river right at Three Creeks Picnic area. |
