Mill Creek is in a deep canyon, one part of the creek goes through a small gorge will tall sheer cliffs on either side. The gradient of the river is continuous with a few technical class III/IV drops. |
| Hazards: |
Scout The Gorge on the shuttle drive. The Gorge often contains wood, once you have entered the Gorge there is no escaping. Also scout Triple Drop, The Claw, and The Twist. Each drop can be scouted from the road. Do not continue past the take out at Mill Creek Park, there is a logjammed class VI gorge .2 miles below. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Take Out: From Salem head west on OR 22 for 21 miles. Just after the highway crosses over Mill Creek turn left onto Mill Creek Road. Follow Mill Creek Road for 2.2 miles to the take out at Mill Creek County Park.
Put In: From the take out continue upstream on Mill Creek Road for 5.6 miles. Put in below the concrete bridge. Also it is possible to put in downstream of The Gorge at one of the many access points. |
