There is no gauge for this creek. This usually runs when the Clackamas River above Three Lynx Creek gauge reads 3,000 - 4,000 cfs. The optimum flow for a first time run is 3,400 - 3,600 cfs.

The upper section of Trout Creek consists of nearly continuous class IV/V boulder gardens to the take out near the lake. The lower section consists of pool drop class III/IV boulder gardens until the confluence with the Wind River just above Initiation Rapid. |

| Shuttle Logistics: |
Take Out: From Carson take Wind River Road toward Stabler. In Stabler turn west onto Hemlock Road, follow this for 1.3 miles to Forest Road 43. Drive up Forest Road, the dam at the downstream end of the lake is an optional take out for the upper run and put in for the lower run. To get to a better take out continue upriver for 1.3 miles on Forest Road 43 to the small footbridge, take out here.
Put In: To reach the put in continue up Forest Road 43 for 3.5 miles to the bridge over trout creek.
