Take Out:  Lake Tugaloo
Difficulty:  Class IV , Class V
Gradient:  45 ft/mi
Run Length:  6 miles
Flow Information (phone):  Chattooga Whitewater Shop; 803-647-9083.
Good Level:  250-1,100 cfs
Season Comments:  March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October
Permit:  Self registration at the put-in.
Character/Similar To:  Some of the most challenging whitewater in the east, highlighted by Five Falls, a continuous series of Class III-VI falls, all within one third of a mile.
Hazards:  Woodall Shoals. Five Falls.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Primitive sites located along US Highway 76. Oconee State Park, 20 miles from the US 76 bridge crossing on SC 107.
Location:  In the Southeastern U.S. (GA,SC), 160 miles Northwest of Columbia
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in:The US 76 bridge over the Chattooga is about midway between Westminster, South Carolina and Clayton, Georgia. Drive on 123 west out of Greenville then take 76 N to Longcreek then hit the 76 bridge which is about 5 miles from Longcreek. There is a three dollar fee to park there.

Take-out: When driving to the take-out go from the bridge south on 76 to Longcreek. From Longcreek, proceed to Damascus Church Road and turn left on Bull Sluice Road. After some 4 miles there is a sign that says Lake Tugaloo Ramp.
