Run Length:  26 miles; shorter runs possible.

Good Level:  1,000-5,000 cfs
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, November, December
Permit:  None presently required.
Character/Similar To:  Most of this trip is trough a deep isolated gorge gradually increasing in gradient, creating tight and technical conditions with boulders and strainers throughout. Most of the rapids on this run are Class II-III and require good boat control in turbulent, technical water.
Hazards:  Strainers, flash floods, undercut rocks, difficult rapids.
Water Craft:  kayak,wwcan,raft
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Developed camping is available at Cumberland Mountain State Park off US 127 about 6 miles south of Crossville, Tennessee. Frozen Head State Park, off TN 62 five miles east of Wartburg, is on the other side of the watershed.
Location:  In the Southeastern U.S. (TN), 124 miles East of Nashville
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: From eastbound I-40 turn left onto Genesis Road and drive north for about 8 miles to Adams Bridge.

Take-out: From Genesis Road cross Jett Bridge and continue to the TN 62 intersection and turn right. Continue through Lansing, cross the railroad tracks, proceed up the hill and bear right at the fork which eventually crosses the Emory. Continue for about 1 mile and bear right onto US 27 and drive toward Wartburg. Turn right on the poorly marked road to "Catoosa" and turn right. After one block turn right again and continue to the access on river left, upstream from Nemo Bridge which crosses the Emory.
