Difficulty:  Class III , Class IV

Permit:  None presently required.
Character/Similar To:  Most of this trip is trough a deep isolated gorge gradually increasing in gradient, creating tight and technical conditions with boulders and strainers throughout. Offers a Class V rapid that most boaters portage and a Class IV that can knock you around. Otherwise the rapids are Class II-III.
Hazards:  Deadfalls, flash flooding, strainers, difficult rapids and undercut rocks.

Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Developed camping is available at Cumberland Mountain State Park off US 127 about 6 miles south of Crossville, Tennessee. Frozen Head State Park, off TN 62 five miles east of Wartburg, is on the other side of the watershed.
Location:  In the Southeastern U.S. (TN), 114 miles East of Nashville
Shuttle Logistics:  Put-in: Bishop Bridge (US 127 Bridge) is located 3 miles north of Crossville, Tennessee and about 200 yards off I-40.
Take-out: From eastbound I-40 turn left onto Genesis Road and drive north for about 8 miles to Adams Bridge.
