Put In:  Sunset Falls
Take Out:  Below Horshoe Falls
Difficulty:  Class IV , Class V
Gradient:  50 fpm
Run Length:  4 miles
Current Streamflow:  1150 cfs @ 12/14/2016 11:00 AM - EAST FORK LEWIS RIVER NEAR HEISSON, WA, reading taken from USGS
Good Level:  400 - 1,000 cfs
Season Comments:  January, February, March, April, November, December
Primary Season: 

This river only runs during the rainy season, usually after a few days of heavy rain

Permit:  None presently required
Character/Similar To:  Class IV rapids seperated by short pools in a deep forested canyon, also there are two forgiving waterfalls, one at the put in, and the other near the take out,
Hazards:  Scout Sunset Falls, Screaming Left Rapid, Dragons Back Rapid, John's Swimming Hole, and Horseshoe Falls. Do your best to stay at river level because this run is on private property.

Land Ownership:  All private property except for put in and take out
Wilderness:  No
Camping on River:  Sunset Falls Campground, this is a great place to camp because you can hike up river and run laps on Sunset Falls
Location:  In the Pacific Region (WA), 181 miles (3 hours 34 minutes) South of Seattle
Shuttle Logistics: 

Take Out: From the town of Battle Ground take Highway 503 north, in 5.4 miles turn right onto Rock Creek Road. Continue up this road for 7.8 miles, at some point it will become Lucia Falls Road. Just past Moulton Falls County Park turn right onto NE Sunset Falls Road. Follow this road for 3.5 miles to a large pullout on the right side of the road, this is the take out.

Put In: From the take out continue up river on Sunset Falls Road to Sunset Campground, put in just above the waterfall. An Alternate put in is another mile up the road at a small pull out.
